Labour Department organises awareness camp

KISHTWAR, Dec 6: Assistant Labour Commissioner's Office, in collaboration with Department of District Employment & Career Counseling and Department of Rural Department & Panchayati Raj today organised an awareness camp for organised and unorganised sector workers and unemployed youth at BDO office Gulab Garh.
BDC Chairman Paddar, Arpan Singh Rana; DDC member Paddar, Hari Krishan Chauhan; ALC/AD employment Amit Kumar, Sarpanches and Panches of all panchayats, staff of RDD and Labourers including unemployed youth attended the camp. During the awareness camp, the ALC imparted awareness to workers about different schemes of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) including benefits of registration of labourers on JKBOCW Portal and schemes under JKBOCWWB like education assistance, Death and chronic disease assistance, funeral assistance, partial disability assistance for workers etc.
Besides, the ALC also briefed about Shops & Establishment Act and urged the PRIs to inform the shopkeepers/owners to get registered on the JK labour portal under the said act.
VlEs of Gulab Garh and Atholi panchayats were also present on the occasion. On the spot renewal and editing of Labourer's details on the Portal was also approved at the camp.
Besides, simultaneously awareness camps were held to impart awareness to local youth about Mission Youth initiatives like Mumkin, Tejaswini, Tourist Village Network Scheme, spurring entrepreneurship initiative etc.
