Dy DEO inspects revision of panchayat electoral rolls

RAMBAN, Jan 7: District Election Department Ramban, under the aegis of District Panchayat Election Officer, (Deputy Commissioner), Mussarat Islam, today conducted special registration camps in connection with Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll, 2023, besides organizing a series of awareness activities across the district under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme.
The events were organized in different Panchayats of different Blocks of the district, where the PEBOs along with BLOs of the concerned Panchayats also received forms for deletion, correction, and transposition from the eligible voters.
Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand, along with his team visited various Panchayats of Chanderkote, where he exhorted the PEBOs and BLOs to focus on cent percent enrollment of prospective voters in the areas of their respective Polling Stations.
During the SVEEP activities, the AEROs, and PEBOs of the concerned Blocks and Panchayats dwelt in detail about the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision and the importance of vote in the democratic setup of the electoral process.
The speakers threw light on various aspects of being a voter and urged upon the age-specific youth who shall attain the age of 18 years on January 1, 2023, to enroll themselves in the Panchayat Electoral Roll, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modification, if any.
The registration forms were also distributed and filled-in forms were received from the eligible electors during the camps.
