The W20 conducted Public Outreach program for Women in Jammu Dr. Sandhya

Jammu, Jan 8: Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chair W20 did a public outreach program at Hari Niwas Palace, in Jammu today to address over 200 women from rural Jammu which included SHG’s, rural entrepreneurs, Sarpanch’s. In attendance were a large number of women from diverse fields ranging from women entrepreneurs, women in services, doctors, lecturers, NGO’s, educationists, public services, start ups. The outreach was organised by Kunwarani Ritu Singh, Founding Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL and was supported by The Ashok Kapur Foundation.
The morning session started with the lighting of the lamp amidst the most beautiful rendition of the Saraswati Vandana sung by a student from DPS school.
The chief guest on the occasion Dr. Sandhya Purecha in her key note address touched upon all areas of the outreach by W20 for the region.
She carried forward the mission for W20 by emphasising on all the key areas of women engagement namely Grassroots Women Leadership, Women Entrepreneurship, Bridging the Gender Digital Divide, Creating Pathways through Education & Skill Development and Climate Change and also emphasised to remove all barriers to women led development, ecosystem for women to thrive, transcend and transform.
Guests of Honor Ms. Indu Kanwal Chib, Director JKRLM highlighted the potential of 6,00,000/- women that come under the aegis of her organisation and assured the Chair of W20 for a fruitful engagement. Appreciating the works done by Dr. Kunwarani Ritu Singh in her collaboration with Umeed, she assured all the women present of a her full support and emphasized on scaling the collaboration to bigger heights.
Guests of Honor Ms. Anoo Malhotra , Director Industries & Commerce welcomed Dr. Sandhya Purecha’s outreach for the W20 and gave insightful suggestions for the same, assuring of giving full support to Women of the region.
Dr Kunwarani Ritu Singh in her welcome address, welcomed the Chair and the guests of honor and gave her presentation on all areas that can be worked on the agenda of W20. She also showcased works done by the SHG’s from the villages from block Bhalwal and Katra under her directive. She assured the W20 chair of her full and complete support.
The eminent list of speakers touched upon all the 5 priority areas covered by W20 in India’s G20 presidency. The speakers were Khushboo Mattoo, Dr. Nazia Rasool Lattifi, Ridhima Arora, Shivani Vaid, Pooja Kapur, Ritika Trehan, Adishree Singh, Parakh Jain, Swati Dadheechi, Dr. Mitali Gupta, Neetu Bali. Kritika Khanna & Neha Mahajan. From rural Jammu President of SHG- Anita Kumari, Sarpanch Premlata (Panchayat- Agar jitto) , Bimla Devi from Machine Domana , Chanchla Devi from Bhalwal.
15 women from rural Jammu were given certificates for completion of Beauty, Makeup & Hair courses undertaken by them under project Asha by FICCI FLO JKL & Ritika Trehan’s LOOKS SALOON.
The impressive & interactive session of the outreach will prove to be extremely beneficial & Dr. Sandhya Purecha ensured all present for an on going relationship for the upliftment of Women Entrepreneurs from Jammu.
