Indian Army conducts a friendly cricket match with Media XI at Malpur

Jammu, Jan 8: Cricket has been traditionally a popular game followed passionately by people of all ages. It also provides an opportunity to local youth for showcasing their talent. Indian Army organised a Friendly Cricket Match at Malpur Cricket Ground near Akhnoor between Army XI and Media XI. The match was organised with an aim of strengthening the ties between Army and Media fraternity of the Area.
Media XI won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first Army XI showed their tremendous batting skills and scored 133 losing 5 wickets in 15 overs. Media XI while chasing the target of 134 were bundled out on a total of 100 runs during the 15th over in progress. After a competitive and hard fought match, the Army XI team managed to beat their spirited opponents by 33 runs.
Both the teams played with the team spirit and pledged to work together to contribute their best for the society. The officials of Indian Army in an interaction with the Media personnel informed them about the various programmes started by them for the welfare of society under operation Sadbhavana.
