| 4 die in heater gas leak | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, DEC 29: Four members of a family died while two others were hospitalized in a tragic accident in Saloosa village of Kreeri in North Kashmir's Baramulla district during the intervening night of December 28. Abdul Ahad Mir, 40, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Saloosa, his wife Jamila, 30, and their two children Bilal Ahmad, 15 and Nusrat, 11 were killed on the intervening night of December 28, due to suffocation when the LPG gas heater that was kept in the room, developed some fault leading to the leakage of gas. Police confirmed the death of four family members while two others, 10 year old Abrar and 9 year old Ishfaq were seriously injured. The injured have been rushed to the district hospital Baramulla, where condition of both of them has been stated to be critical. SHO Kreeri, Shabir Ahmad, told PBI that the deaths occurred due to the leakage of gas from the heater that was used by the family to warm the room they were sleeping in. However, Ahmad said that investigations have been started to look into the matter. "This seems to be case of accident caused by the leakage of gas. We have started investigations to ascertain the cause of the deaths," he added. |
