39 promising children of cops impress Khoda, get scholarships

Jammu, Dec 29: The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda today released DGP’s special reward of Rs.1.95 lakh out of Central Police Welfare Fund with commendation certificates in favour of 39 wards of serving police personnel at the rate Rs. 5000 each, who have secured highest percentage of marks in matric, 10+2 and graduation level examination during the academic year 2007.
The wards include Vishal Sharma S/O K.K.Sharma,Dy.SP, Injeela Masoom D/O G.A Dar,SSP, Sumati Sharma D/O Rajesh Pran, SP, Haseeb Shah S/O Mukhtar Ahmad Shah, DDP, Vishwander Singh S/O Ram Singh Jamwal,Dy.SP, Amir Ali Chisti S/O Z.H.Chisti,IGP, Sonali Dhar D/O Inspr. Vijay Dhar, Hardeep Kour Bali D/O ASI Surjeet Singh, Ulfat Shah D/O ASI Sirajudin, Neha Dhar D/O Inspr(S) Suman Dhar, Amandeep Singh S/O ASI Dalbir Singh, Mohammad Imran Bhat S/O ASI Abdul Hamid, Aditya Jamwal S/o SI Sukhjit Singh Jamwal, Jyoti Verma D/o SI Krishan Chand, Owais Farooq Mir S/o Inspr. The Director General of Police releasing the amount said that several measures have been initiated for the welfare of families and dependents of police personnel. He said during current year about Rs. 24 crores were made available for providing relief to the jawans in terms of special relief to the next of kins of the deceased police personnel. The loans of more than Rs. 19 lakhs was also sanctioned and disbursed under various welfare schemes.
Khoda said that to facilitate the education of the wards of police personnel, this year scholarships worth Rs. 14.50 lakhs were also sanctioned. He made a special mention of the efforts being made to ensure that wards of police personnel receive quality education.
