Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 10: Stating that Congress Party will emerge stronger in the country and in J&K, Pradesh Congress Committee, President Vikar Rasool Wani on Tuesday cautioned the people of "sinister designs" of the BJP and its offshoots, who are out to divide people for political mileage and electoral gains.
Wani also sought peoples' overwhelming support to upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, terming Yatra a hope for all Indians.
Wani was addressing a public meeting at Khari and Ramsu in Banihal area of Ramban District.
The JKPCC President cautioned the people about the "sinister designs" of the BJP and its offshoots and said attempts are being made to further mislead and create confusion aiming to divide people on certain lines in J&K, as that, BJP has realized that its plans of exploiting people for electoral gains will face humiliating defeat.
"The ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi has infused confidence among the people, the day is not far when the BJP will be wiped out for the divisive and wrong policies adopted by it towards people since it has assumed power at Centre," Wani added and said BJP government has pushed the country towards darkness still it is making tall claims on various counts, which is based on lies and deceit.
He termed Bharat Jodo as the most significant movement in the country and said it is against the assault on democratic institutions, rising unemployment, unprecedented price hike, religious and divisive politics which is harmful to the very idea of India. "India is a diverse Nation and guarantees equal rights and treatment to every section of the people living in the country" he said.
The JKPCC President reiterated his fervent appeal to all like-minded secular parties in general and people of Jammu and Kashmir in particular to join upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra with overwhelming majority to make it successful in the larger interest of people of J&K, who have been pushed towards darkness on every count, besides abandoning them of democratic rights by the BJP Govt aiming to fulfill its (BJP's) political agenda and its endeavors to come into power in J&K by hook or by crook, he rued.
