Deputy Commissioner reviews status of Aadhaar Enrollment in Rajouri district

RAJOURI, Jan 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, underscored the importance of effective implementation and a maximum enrollment of the Aadhaar in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was chairing a meeting to review the status of Aadhaar enrollment and the progress achieved so far. He sought a detailed report on all aspects of Aadhaar enrollment including enrollment of the 0 to 5 years age group. The meeting was apprised that out of 82857 persons, 38957 persons have been enrolled under Aadhaar. It was decided that special Aadhaar enrollment camps would also be organised on Village Health and nutrition day and on the day of vaccination to enroll the 0 to 3 years ICDS beneficiaries. Similarly, the School Education Department shall also ensure the hundred percent Aadhaar enrollment of pre-nursery year children in schools. Taking note of the Aadhaar enrollment of the 5-18 years age group, it was informed that 93.33 percent progress has been recorded in this regard, while the DC asked to achieve a hundred percent target. It was further informed that 711048 persons have been Aadhar enrolled in 18 yr and above age group. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the district administration to ensure enrollment of all citizens to enable them to avail benefits of different schemes. He directed the officers to actively monitor the process for efficiency, accuracy, and saturation. The officers discussed the potential roadblocks in the process of Aadhaar enrollment and submitted that special camps have already been organized in the past in the district with a special focus on the government and private schools. The officers shall also ensure that the camps are organised to cover the left out beneficiaries.
Officers who attended the meeting were PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; DAO, Dr Farooq Mir; DIO, Narinder Kumar; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi and other concerned officers.
