Jammu, Jan 10: 6th Mata Joginder Kour Memorial Badminton Tournament (2022-23) inaugurated at indoor sports complex, Sher-E-Kashmir University Of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Chatha, Jammu in sweet memory of Mata Joginder Kour. Prof. B.C. Sharma, Dean Faculty of Agriculture inaugurated and presided over by Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Rajesh Katoch. The sole motive of this tournament is to channelize the youth energy through the medium of sports. In the inaugural address Prof. B.C. Sharma lauded the initiatives of the Mata Joginder Kour Memorial Trust for taking lead to build a healthy society, I on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. J.P.Sharma wish this trust a glorious future and extend whole hearted support for futures endeavours for any noble cause.
The dignitaries who also address the inaugural session are Dr. Ashwani Kr. Jojra, State President Special Olympics Bharat, J&K UT, S. Avtar Singh Sarpranch, Chatha and Shri. Vikas Bhargav, Educationist. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion are Dr. Gurdev Chand, HOD. Plant physiology, Dr. Ravinder Singh Soodan, Dr. Subhash Kashyap, Dr. Balbir Dhotra, Dr. Arvinder Singh, S. Jarnail Singh, ZPEO, S, Manohar Singh ji.
Keynote was presented by General Secretay, Joginder Kour Memorial Trust Dr. Sukhbir Singh whereas vote of thanks was presented by President Trust S.Amarjit Singh. Overall tournament is supervised under the able guidance of Dushyant Sharma, Convenor, Tournament Organizing Committee.
More than 100 participants form different walks are participating under different categories viz, under 14 boys, Senior men/women, veteran aged 40-50 years, veteran 2nd above 50 years and mixed men/women in both singles and double events.
