Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 10: Protesting Kashmiri Pandit employees welcome the statement of Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the release of withheld salaries and the assurance on the Attachment/Deployment demand to Jammu. The employees expressed gratitude to the entire J&K BJP UT leadership for strongly putting forth the concerns of protesting Kashmiri Pandit employees who have been the victims of recent targeted killings in Kashmir valley. The employees have expressed faith in the core group of J&K BJP which met Home Minister under the leadership of Ravinder Raina. The protesting Kashmiri Pandit employees are hoping that a major decision providing them justice and relief will be taken and their withheld salaries will be released in a few days. The Kashmiri Pandit employees recruited under PM's Package are hopeful of a major announcement from Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP leadership in the coming week and are closely monitoring the unfolding events to chalk out the future course of action.
The employees have also expressed their resentment on the recent statement of LG Manoj Sinha in a Press Conference stating that 'Those Kashmiri Pandit employees who have been sitting at homes won't be given salary". The employees have forcefully put it across that they're not sitting in their homes and are constantly protesting on roads for the last 246 days demanding "Right to Life" under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. Moreover the employees have clearly expressed their desire to work from Jammu until the security situation improves in the valley. It's pertinent to mention here that Kashmiri Pandit employees are protesting for the past 246 days demanding Attachment to Jammu in the wake of targeted killings in valley. The protests erupted after a Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat was killed by the terrorists at his office in Chadoora, Budgam on 12th May 2022 followed by the killing of Teacher Rajni Bala and Banker Vijay Kumar. Since then, employees have been asking Administration to deploy them to Jammu until the security situation improves in the valley. Moreover, the salaries of these employees have been withheld by the LG Administration wherein they are being coerced to join back in the valley without addressing their security concerns. Many employees who are suffering from life consuming diseases are finding it difficult to go with their routine and medical expenses. One of the PM Package employee Chand jee Bhat lost his life to Liver Cirrhosis. The employees alleged that his salary was also withheld by the concerned Zonal Education Officer. Moreover, the employees have been going through a very traumatic phase wherein their families are facing extreme hardships in the absence of salaries. The entire Kashmiri Pandit community, several KP organisations, political parties, political leaders, community leadership have already come in support of the legitimate demand of protesting employees and have shared the stage of the employees endorsing their demand.
