2.4 kg charas, heroin recovered; three notorious drug peddlers arrested: Police

REASI, Jan 11: Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi under the supervision of Amit Gupta SSP Reasi, Reasi Police arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered 2.4 Kg Charas and 1.5 gms of heroin from their possession.
During routine checking and frisking at zero Morh Talwara party of police station Reasi led by Insp Vijay Sharma under the supervision of Iftkhar Ahmed Dysp Headquarters apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered 2.4 kg of Charas like substances from their possession.
Arrested drug peddlers identified as Nazir Hussain S/O Abdul Rehman R/O Bathindi Jammu and Mohd Nazir alias Bulli S/O Furqan Ali R/O Jedd Reasi.
On this a case FIR No 6/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Acts stand registered at the Police Station Reasi and investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages.
In another incident Police party of Police station Reasi while checking and frisking at Thapa chowk apprehended one drug peddler Manik Sharma S/O Satpaul Sharma R/O Trintha Reasi and recovered 1.5 gms of Heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
In this regards case FIR no 08/2023 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act stand registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation initiated. While sharing the details Sr Superintendent of Police Reasi Amit conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the area.
On one hand punitive actions are being taken and peddlers are being arrested, on the other hand drug addicts are being counselled at de-addiction counselling centre at Reasi.
SSP further added that people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-narcotics drive of District Police which is must to save our future generations.
