| SBI honors Natrang Director Balwant Thakur, his team | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 29: The State Bank of India today honored Natrang Director Balwant Thakur and his team at Abhinav Theatre Jammu for their outstanding performance of the play 'Sainyan Bhaye Kotwal' in two International Theatre festivals held recently in Kolkatta and Behrampur (West Bengal). The honor was bestowed on them by S. P. Singh Deputy General Manager, SBI Regional Branch Office Jammu. Among the top dignitaries present on the occasion included, O.P Aggarwal Regional Director Reserve Bank of India, Sudhanshu Pandey Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sandeep Nayak, Commissioner Power Development Department, Variender Singh Commissioner, Income Tax AK Mathur, Chief General Manager NABARD, , Ashok Sharma Divisional Traffic Manager Northen Railways, K.C. Dubey Director Aakashwani/Doordarshan, Jammu, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas Secretary J&K Cultural Academy On this occasion Vasant Sabnis's 'Sainyan Bhaye Kotwal' directed by Balwant Thakur was presented before jam-packed audience which primarily included esteemed customers, patrons and staff of State Bank of India. Natrang actors enthralled everyone through their excellent acting skills and powerful presentation. The play is a contemporary satire on the establishment and the director has adapted the script in such a manner that it conveys effectively the soul of the play. The actors who were also honored on the occasion included Suraj Singh the music director Suresh Kumar, Anil Tickoo, Sanjeev Gupta, Pankaj Sharma, Dimple Sharma, Gaurav Jamwal, Tajasvi Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Rahul Singh, Amit Sharma, Arvind Singh, Mohd. Yaseen, Hemant Bholla, Singers Supriya Sharma, Lakshmi Sharma and Satish Lalotra in addition to the off-stage team which included Sumeet Sharma, Suraj Ganjoo, Krish, Aarushi Thakur, Vansheen, Depak Virdi, Surkshit Jasrotia, Pankush Verma and Ranbeer Singh. Speaking on the occasion Deputy General Manager, said that it becomes the larger responsibility of all of us to promote art, culture and the finer human skills. Such activities are to be patronized and encouraged for the creation of a healthy society. The artists of Natrang who have brought laurels for the state of Jammu & Kashmir deserve such honors and their performance of the play which for the first time brought International recognition for this region. |
