DC inspects delivery of public services in Handwara sub-division

KUPWARA, Jan 13: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today held an extensive tour of Handwara sub-division to inspect the delivery of public services and monitor ongoing Snow clearance operation.
The DC visited District Hospital Handwara and inspected various sections of the hospital including Emergency ward, Operation Theatre, OPD, IPD, X-Ray, Paediatrics etc. He also checked the attendance of doctors and medical staff and directed them to work with added zeal for proper treatment of the patients.
The DC interacted with the patients and enquired about the healthcare services who expressed their satisfaction over the facilities.
Earlier, the DC paid a surprise visit to Health Centre Hatmullah and PHC Nagri and inspected the functioning of these centres.
ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir and other concerned officers accompanied the DC.
The DC also paid surprise visits to PHE and PDD Offices in Handwara and checked the attendance of officials. He took stock of feeders, power supply and repairing of transformers and directed the concerned to ensure smooth power supply to both metered and non-metered areas as per the schedule.
The DC also took stock of ongoing Snow clearance measures in different areas of the Handwara sub division. He visited upper areas of Rajwar and Nowgam and heard various public deputations during the visit. Doifode Sagar said that the aim of his visit was to check the delivery of various public services including healthcare, power, water supply and Snow clearance in Handwara sub division. He expressed satisfaction and said various services are functioning properly for which he has taken review of.
Regarding electricity, the DC said that the transformer damage rate has slightly increased and 2 to 3 transformers are being repaired on a daily basis from the central workshop.
