1/14/2023 10:29:20 PM
Early Times Report
DODA, Jan 14: District Magistrate Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, has issued an order under Section 144 CrPC, asking all landlords, property owners, vehicle owners, shop and commercial business establishment owners, attorney holders, and persons in charge of properties in any capacity located within the jurisdiction of the district to submit detailed particulars of their tenants to the concerned police station within 7 days.
The order has been issued with the aim of ensuring public safety and preventing anti-national and anti-social elements from seeking hideouts in residential areas under the guise of tenants and domestic helpers.
The landlords and property owners, along with the tenants, have been made accountable under the order. It also clarifies that arrangements such as paying guest and subletting are also covered under the order, and owners who have allowed jhuggies on their land are also required to disclose the details as per the declaration form. The SHO concerned will maintain a separate register for the purpose.
The declaration form can be found on the district website, as individual notice cannot be served. Any person found contravening this order will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
