Court frames corruption charges against Patwari, others

JAMMU, Jan 14: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Udhampur Dinesh Gupta has framed charges Mohammad Farooq Patwari Halqa Duddu Basantgarh and Mohammad Javed S/o Late Mohammad Amin R/o Duddu Latti Marothi Distt. Udhampur who were booked by the VOJ (now ACB) in FIR No 3/2016 for making false/ fictitious entry of Girdawari into the Revenue Record pertaining to Khasra No. 76 (Land measuring 02 Kanals 18 Marlas) in Village Dudu in favour of Mohammad Javed S/o late Mohammad Amin R/o Dudu (beneficiary).
According to the case that Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Basantgarh conducted enquiry into the allegations against Mohammad Farooq, the then Patwari, Halqa Dudu, Basantgarh, who had made false/ fictitious entry of Girdawari into the Revenue Record pertaining to Khasra No. 76 (Land measuring 02 Kanals 18 Marlas) in Village Dudu in favour of Mohammad Javed S/o Late Mohammad Amin R/o Dudu (beneficiary).
Enquiry conducted further revealed that Mohammad Javed (beneficiary) with the intention to grab the land of his sister namely Asmat Begum, entered into a criminal conspiracy with Mohammad Farooq, the then Patwari, Halqa Dudu Basantgarh and got illegal entries of said land. Mohammad Farooq, the then Patwari despite having knowledge that the said land belonged to Asmat Begum and was under her cultivation, Mohammad Farooq, the then Patwari by abuse of his official position made wrong Girdawari entry into the Girdawari Register during the Girdawari (Rabbi) 2005 for 04 Kanals 08 Marlas under Khasra No. 76 Min mentioning that it was a self cultivated piece of land (Khud Kasht) through Mohammad Javed (beneficiary) by manipulating records and conferred wrongful gain to the beneficiary and thereby deprived the actual owner of her rightful claim. Consequently, on the outcome of said enquiry, Case FIR No. 03/2016 was registered under relevant sections of law and investigation taken up by the Vigilance Organization, Jammu (now ACB). —JNF
