1/15/2023 10:54:04 PM
Early Times Report

Khour, Jan 15: Former Dy CM Tara Chand Sunday accorded a rousing reception in Khour on his maiden visit after rejoining Congress. He was received by huge gathering of people with Bikes and Cars who received him from Akhnoor onwards with beat of drums. Thousands of his supporters thronged the road and took him in a huge procession from Akhnoor to Khour. The huge procession resulted in road blockade and suspension of vehicular traffic on the said route. Those who accompanied Tara Chand include Ex MLA Balwan Singh, Ex MP TS Bajwa, Ex MOS Bushan Dogra, Vinod Sharma,Varun Magotra ,Badri Nath Sharma, Spokesperson Sahil Sharma.
Addressing huge gathering, Tara Chand said that “we will bring change by doing positive politics of Jammu and Kashmir for the welfare of the people,” he said and claimed that only Congress can deliver what they promise. He said today inflation is touch sky. People are suffering at every sphere and only Congress can give justice to them. He said Congress has huge acceptance in both divisions Jammu and Kashmir. He said that educated youth of Jammu Kashmir is suffering because of poor politics by traditional parties including BJP in Jammu. He said present government have ruined the future of Daily Wagers, Border Battalion Aspirants, SPO's, HDF Employees, Dental Surgeons, Pharmacists, BSF/CISF Aspirants.
Referring to all round development of Khour, Tara Chand said that this constituency is number one in road connectivity and numerous development projects have improved the development profile of the far-flung border area, adding that during his tenure in Govt multi-crore model cluster villages projects in rural areas equipped with all modern facilities.Describing unemployment as biggest problem, former Deputy Chief Minister said that J&K has suffered a lot during last eight years due to lack of industry which has also contributed in growing unemployment. Whereas during our govt, J&K was moving fast on the path of development and the Government had also initiated landmark schemes like SKEWPY and other such programs for helping youth in getting training for starting their own ventures, he added.
Tara Chand further said that Congress Government had included different public services under PSG Act which made the service delivery time bound and Public Disclosure Law in Urban Bodies made it mandatory for the offices to display a board giving detail of different projects and their funding as well as start and expected date of completion. He added, BJP not only cheated people of J&K, they bluffed the people who voted them to power. None of the poll promises have yet been fulfilled. The profit-making corporations are now dead and the funds of development projects are being looted by contractors from outside the state. Jobs are being sold to outsiders we shall not allow them to continue IF Congress gets power in J&K.
Seeking huge support to Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K, Tara Chand said three primary objectives of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ are to understand and address the economic inequality in the country; bring communities closer while respecting their uniqueness, and awaken the masses against the wrong policies of BJP Govt”, he said. Yatras have changed the history of the country, this yatra will change the future of the country,” said Tara Chand. It is indeed positive that this rally brings into the public discourse issues which the BJP does not want the people to talk about.
Unemployment among the youth stands at 42%, inflation is at an all-time high, education is becoming out of bounds, there is a complete collapse of labour protection, the corporatisation of agriculture is leading to penurisation or destitution of the farmer, there is stagnation of social development.
