MVD conducts a series of activities across Ramban

RAMBAN, Jan 15: Continuing activities under Road Safety Week, Motor Vehicles Department Ramban intensified the awareness activities on National Highway-44 to sensitize drivers to focus on safe driving besides conducting enforcement drives.
ARTO Ramban Samrinder Singh informed that during the checking drives 15 vehicles were Challaned and a fine amount of Rs 4000 was collected from the violators on spot for violating MVD Rules.
As a part of road safety, ARTO under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam also conducted physical verification of black spots alongside NH-44 between Nashri and Ramban.
Meanwhile, MVD also made aware about traffic rules and regulations which are necessary to prevent road accidents.
ARTO also responded to the queries raised by the drivers and transporters.
He called upon them to understand the responsibility of safe ferrying of passengers from place to another and abstain from overloading and drunken driving, two major causes of road accidents.
