| Drill operator died in a landslide | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Jan 15: In a tragic incident, at least one labourer was trapped after a landslide hit under construction Road for Kuntwara in Drabshalla area of Kishtwar District. As per the details available with Early Times, the trapped labourer has been identified as drill operator Ganesh Dass son of Lal Chand R/o Tagood Kishtwar. As soon as the landslide occurred, senior police officials led by Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Ashish Gupta rush to the spot and started rescue operation to retrieve the trapped person. Members of District Red Cross committee also joins the rescue operation with necessary assistance. This is 2nd landslide in Kishtwar District in last few hours. Earlier massive landslide hit adjacent to the area of 1000 MW under construction Pakal-Dool power project, however no loss of life was reported in that landslide that triggered during wee hours of Sunday morning. Following the rescue operation, another landslide triggered at the same spot as a result of which the team of officials involved in the rescue operation had a miraculous escape. After hectic efforts of rescue team, the dead body of the deceased was recovered from the ill fated site. |
