LeT Chief Adm among 4 militants shot dead

Srinagar, Sep 16 : At least four militants, including Chief Administrator of Lashkar-e-Toiba, were killed in three separate gun battles in Kashmir region, since last 24 hours.
A defence spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that the security forces achieved a major achievement when they gunned down Abu Muhammad Sayeed, Chief Administrator and Financial Controller of LeT, in a gun battle in Nandi Marg area of Kulgam, late last night.
Giving details of the encounter, sources said, security forces launched a massive search operation following the specific inputs about the movement of Sayeed in the area. The troops cordoned off the hideout of the militant and asked him to lay down arms.
However, the militant tried to escape from the spot taking cover of fire. Security forces swung into action and gunned him down.
As per the spokesman, Sayeed was operating from last more than three years as financial and administrative controller of LeT in Gool Gulabgarh area of Udhampur district. His killing is said to be a big blow to the outfit in the state.
A large quantity of arms and ammunitions including one AK rifle, a hand grenade, two cell phones, a stamp of district commander of LeT and high denomination Indian and Pakistani currencies were also recovered from the slain militant, the spokesman added.
Security forces launched a joint operation in Wahipora area of Pulwama district, late Friday night and shot dead two militants belonging to LeT. The slain militants have been identified as Shabir Bhat alias Tausif alias Umar and Firdous Bhat alias Dosa both residents of Jandwal, Pulwama. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession, sources told News Agency of Kashmir. The operation was jointly launched by police and army, they added.
In a separate encounter at Narwani-Zainapora in Pulwama a Pakistani militant Abu Mastan was killed. One AK rifle was recovered from his possession.
