NEW DELHI, Jan 17: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday asked Pakistan to mend its ways and come to terms with India after its Prime Minister confessed and admitted that Pakistan was at loss for waging wars with India.
The BJP stalwart leader from J&K was speaking at the meeting after the culmination of the BJP National Executive Meeting in New Delhi. In the meeting, All BJP leaders were present.
Kavinder said that the adage 'better late than never' suits Pakistan and it is advisable for that country to shun the path of terrorism and exporting terror to this side of the border as India wanted warm ties with its neighbouring countries but until Pakistan will not mend its ways the same are not possible.
Kavinder reminded the Pakistan premier Shahbaz Sharief about attempts made by former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee to have friendly ties with Pakistan but the response was abysmal at that time and thereafter also. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also gone out of the way by visiting Pakistan to greet its former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief but the consistency of that country in deceiving India again and again has deteriorated the relations. He said that if Pak PM means what he has said and will show the same through his deeds, the resumption of talks and normal ties are not an issue. He however said that Pakistan is facing an acute economic crisis right now and therefore it is advisable for that country to come clean and restore good relations with this side as India never disappoints any country in need.
