DAP launches counter-offensive after Jairam Ramesh's claim proved farce
1/18/2023 10:58:46 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 18: As the claim of General Secretary in-charge Communications of Congress party Jairam Ramesh proved a sham, the Democratic Azad Party launched a counter-offensive on the Congress party.
On the one hand, Ghulam Nabi Azad has started one-to-one meetings with all senior leaders to counter Congress’ poaching campaign, while on the other hand party leaders have started approaching Congress leaders who are feeling suffocated within the party. After Jairam Ramesh’s claim proved a farce, DAP has launched a counter-offensive to put Congress on the defensive.
As reported earlier, General Secretary in-charge Communications of Congress party Jairam Ramesh on Monday predicted more leaders from Azad’s party will rejoin Congress on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow more leaders from DAP-Disappearing Azad Party will end their leave of absence and return to where they belong. Expect news from Jammu which is all set to welcome BharatJodoYatra on 19th of January”, Jairam Ramesh tweeted.
Sources said that Ghulam Nabi Azad has asked party leaders to prepare a list of Congress leaders who have been sidelined in the party.
Former MLA Ashok Sharma claimed that 110 grassroots workers of the Tatapani sector join DAP.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Azad Party on Wednesday said that Congress is making false propaganda that hundreds of leaders from it have re-joined Congress.
The DAP General Secretary R. S. Chib said that the propaganda is unleashed due to the frustration in the Congress party which faces acute leadership crises not only at the National level but in Jammu Kashmir also. He said that only few people have rejoined Congress after quitting from DAP. “Even if you check the list of Congress party they released it has very few names who have left DAP and joined Congress. But they are making propaganda intending to demoralize our leaders,” he said.
“We have not released any list of office bearers on district level, so how come they are claiming that those who have joined were the office bearers of DAP of District and Block level office bearers?
He said the only leader who had a constituency Dr Manohar Lal Sharma rejoined DAP, the other few who went back to Congress have no constituency.
Chib said that these so called leaders can’t even fight the DDC elections since they have no existence on ground. They even lost recent DDC election also assembly. He said DAP will not accept any political leader who is unacceptable to people and is not connected at the grassroots. “We are building a team of leaders who are connected at the ground and people repose faith in them. We have successfully cultivated the crop and it has started bearing fruits and that is why Congress is feeling frustrated,” he said.
