| PSC notifies KAS seats | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 30: An occasion for the civil career aspirants to celebrate, the Jammu amd Kashmir Public Service Commission has issued notification for the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, popularly known as Kashmir Administrative Services. As per the notification total no of vacancies are 398. Out of which Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service has 210 posts, J&K Police (Gazetted) Services has 84 while c. J&K Accounts (Gazetted) services have 104 posts in it. The aspirants will be able to get the forms from Jan 12 while the last date of submission of Application Forms is Jan 16. Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service out of 210 posts , 119 has been allotted for Open merit category , 42 for RBA, 17 for SC, 21 for ST, 07 for LAC, 4 for OSC while six posts have been kept reserved for Physically Handicapped category. In J&K Police (G) Service out of 84 posts 48 have been for Open merit, 17 for RBA, 6 for SC, 8 for ST , 03 for LAC and for OSC there are 02 posts while in J&K Accounts (G) Service there are 104 numbers of posts from which 58 have been allotted to Open merit Category, 21 for RBA, , 08 for Sc, 11 for ST, 04 for LAC, 02 for OSC and 02 for Physically Handicapped Category. As per process the aspirants appearing in the examination has to go through two phases Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and Combined Competitive (Main) Examination (Written & Interview) for selection of candidates for various services and posts indicated above. As per notification the aspirants appearing in the examination should be must be a permanent resident of the J&K State and he should also have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University in India or from a Foreign University declared by Government in consultation with the Commission to be equivalent to a degree of a recognized Indian University. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on 1st January; 2008 i.e a candidate must have been born not earlier than 1st Jan 1973 and not later than 1st Jan 1987. The upper age limit prescribed shall be 40 years only if the candidate belongs to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes or is a handicapped person. A candidate seeking admission to the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, has to pay to the Commission, a fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) in case of open merit category and Rs.250/- (Rupees two hundred fifty only) in case of Reserved Categories.
