Kashmir Congress neta’s son questions party veteran
1/25/2023 11:40:12 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Jan 25: At a party meeting in Kashmir ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s entry into the valley, the son of a senior Congress leader has questioned the credentials of a senior leader from South Kashmir.
The son of the senior Congress leader, while addressing a meeting said that the said senior leader had made “Ghar Wapsi” only after having left the party to join Democratic Azad Party where he stayed for a few weeks.
The son of the leader openly said that he was more loyalist to Rahul Gandhi than the one who had left the Congress for “greener pastures some months ago.”
The son of the leader said the Congress should focus more on the loyalists than “turncoats.”
Interestingly, former Chief Minister and DAP chief, Ghulam Nabi Azad had some days ago said that the neta in question had left his party to join back Congress as he had no constituency to contest elections from.
“Now even after joining back the party, he doesn’t seem to be getting any position in the party,” an observer told the Early Times.
The controversy has erupted when Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is about to venture into the Valley as the last leg of the nationwide march led by the Nehru-Gandhi family scion.
It’s pertinent to mention that as a part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress let the rebels who had joined Azad get back into the grand old party at mega event.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to conclude in Kashmir on January 30 with a mega attendance of senior leaders of the party and other prominent politicians from across the country including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Despite repeated attempts the son of the Congress leader or the other party couldn’t be contacted for comments.
