12/31/2008 10:46:46 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 31: A top intellectual capital in bureaucracy, Tourism Secretary Nayeem Akhter is reported to have made up his mind for calling it a day in the state administration.
Sources said that Nayeem Akhter has applied for pre-mature retirement under Civil Services Rules. Significantly, this move comes at a crucial transition when new government is about to take over.
The sudden development surprised his colleagues in the bureaucracy as they learnt about Nayeem’s decision to call it a day. Nayeem has a long experience of handling different assignments in his career. He was not immediately available for comments but sources close to him described this as a decision “purely on personal reasons”.
According to sources, Nayeem Akhtar forwarded his application for voluntary retirement to the general administration department on Wednesday.
