| India, Myanmar evolve mechanism to strengthen ties | | | New Delhi, Sept 16 India and Myanmar today evolved a mechanism to further strengthen bilateral cooperation on the issues related to security, drug trafficking and border management.
"A mechanism has been reached to assist each other in these areas," said Union Home Secretary V K Duggal during a joint press conference with Myanmar's Deputy Home Minister Brig. Gen. Phone Swe.
He was responding to questions after signing of minutes of the four-day national-level meeting between the two countries.
While the Indian delegation was led by Duggal, the Myanmar team was headed by Brig. Gen. Swe. |
