DC finalises arrangements for LG Rolling Cricket cup

RAJOURI, Jan 28: District administration Rajouri is going to organise LG Rolling Cricket Cup as part of youth engagement programme under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
Deputy Commissioner , Vikas Kundal announced about the sports event today while addressing a huge audience here at one day mega youth conclave organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department. The tournament will start from 5th February 2023.
ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; Councillor, Shafqat Mir; Sanjay Sharma besides a large number of youth attended the event.
Describing the youth as the real ambassadors of change, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Government was sincerely working towards their socio-economic empowerment by grooming their potential in the right direction.
Highlighting the importance of sports for all round development of the youth, the DC exhorted the participants to take equal interest in sports along with academics to become all-rounders.
He said the main objective of organising such sports events was to imbibe the spirit of leadership, discipline among the youth. "Sports strengthen physical and mental health , help to build better relationships, imbibe team spirit and help in increasing understanding among the youth and to channelise their energy in a positive direction," he added.
Listing various measures being taken to curb drug menace in the district, he stressed on the officers to put in synergized and comprehensive efforts to fight this menace.
The DC also discussed arrangements for the proposed cricket tournament and urged the concerned officers to work in tandem to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
