ICAI, IIIP conduct seminar on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code

JAMMU, Jan 28: Committee on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Organised a Seminar on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code in association with Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals (IIIP) of ICAI hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Branch of NIRC, ICAI.
Member (J), National Company Law Tribunal, Rohit Kapoor was the chief guest of the occasion and gave inaugural address.
CA. Subodh Kumar Agrawal, Past President, ICAI & Insolvency Professional and CA. Sumit Bansal, Insolvency Professional were the Guest Speakers on the occasion.
In the First Technical Session, CA. Subodh Kumar Agrawal discussed the Basics of IBC, CIRP process. He also highlighted its impact on Financial Statements.
In the Second Technical Session, CA. Sumit Bansal discussed on Liquidation- Security Interest and Waterfall Distribution- Priority payment like PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc. He also discussed important Judgements under Insolvency & bankruptcy Code (IBC).
Both the Guest Speakers addressed the queries raised by the members during the seminar.
CA. Vikas Purdhani, Vice-Chairman of the branch welcomed the guests and deliberated on certain issues of professional importance.
CA. Vineet Kohli, Secretary of the Branch conducted the proceedings.
J&K branch has First time organised this program on IBC. Treasurer of EIRC of ICAI, CA Vishnu K Tulsyan also joined this event along with other members of EIRC.
CA. Sourav Pargal, Executive Member presented the formal Vote of thanks and CA. Ayush Sawhney, Treasurer along with a large number of Chartered Accountants, Company Secretary, Advocates and Bank Officials were also present.
