| AR Handloom’s adjustment stayed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan O1- Justice JP Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing has stayed the adjustment of private respondent as Assistant Registrar Handlooms till further orders after four years. While staying the adjustment, Justice Singh observed that the order of Director Handlooms Development Department Jammu of November 1, 2004 that respondent Duri Shahwar was not eligible to seek consideration for promotion against the post of Assistant Registrar, yet she had been adjusted against the post though in her own pay and grade purely on temporary basis. The arrangement devised by the Director which had been intended to be temporary still continues to exist. After hearing Adv SS Ahmed appearing for the petitioners and Additional Advocate General PC Sharma appearing for the State respondents, Justice Singh issued notice to State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce and Director Handloom Development which were accepted by the Additional Advocate General and also directed the registry to issue notice to BS Manhas Assistant Registrar and Duri Shahwar Assistant Registrar. In view of the ineligibility of private respondent No 5 to function as Assistant Registrar Handlooms, her adjustment as Assistant Registrar Handlooms is stayed till further orders, the court ordered.
