1/29/2023 10:39:36 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 29: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teacher/Master Association (JKTMA) was held under the chairmanship of UT President Rakesh Singh and UT General Secretary Vivek Gupta to discuss burning issues of Teacher/Masters , most important of which is DPC of Teachers/Masters to Masters and Lectures respectively. Singh while speaking on the occasion urged Principal Secretary SED Alok Kumar to expedite the process of DPC of Teachers/Masters and release the DPC lists at earliest in order to avoid any frustration among teachers/Masters due to prolonged stagnation at same cadre , as after 2014 February no new DPC list of Master grade list is released by the higher authorities.
Singh urged to update seniorty lists of Post graduate Teachers in science stream for their promotion as Lectures by excluding Distance degree holders, and issue the DPC lists of incharge Lecturers before commencement of new academic session, as New Education Policy 2020 cannot be implemented on ground without fulfillment of all vacant posts of lectures in all the Senior Secondary Schools. Singh also suggested to higher authorities to update seniorty lists on the base of date of passing Post Graduation/B.Ed instead of date of joining, as it will help to curb the menace of fake degrees obtained from off campus study centres/tuck shops acquired by some senior teacher/masters only for sake of promotion without having basic understanding of their subject and this will ultimately proves academic loss of students and degrades quality of education in Govt. Schools. Vikram Gupta state vice President urged to increase the overall strength of Master grade cadre by creating the new posts of Masters equivalent to the posts of SSA Head Teachers as it will resolve the salary issue of such Head Teachers on the one hand and also pave the way for promotion of more Teachers to masters. Ajay Kumar District President Udhampur raised the issue of Transfer of Teachers/Masters and urged to implement the policy of compulsory service of RBA selected Teachers/Masters in backward areas for minimum seven years in order to overcome the shortage of staff in rural areas. Association also urged to Chief Electoral Officer to enhance the remuneration of BLOs and Supervisors at the rate of Rs 12000 and Rs 24000 respectively. Ajay Sharma UT Chief Coordinator appealed to provide Lecture allowance to all such Teachers/Masters who are engaged to teach senior secondary classes in addition to their own duties in absence of regular Lecturers in the school.
