| Panthers want security of candidates intact | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 01- Alleging that the Jammu and Kashmir Police Administration has withdrawn the security cover of the Panthers Party candidates, who contested the Assembly elections 2008, leaving the Party leaders on the mercy of the terrorists, Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP today urged the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, for his immediate and urgent intervention to save the lives of the precious souls who dared militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and participated in the elections. Accusing Director General of Police and the Security Chief of Police for deliberately divesting security cover of Panthers Party candidates only, Prof. Singh urged the Prime Minister to provide minimum possible security cover to the Party candidates in Kashmir Valley and other sensitive areas. Prof. Singh also accused the State Administration for rigging polls first then withdrawing security cover which is available for the candidates of other political parties and declared that his Party candidates shall resort to hunger strike in Delhi if urgent action is not taken in this regard. Prof. Singh has also convened an emergency working committee meeting of the party in Jammu on January, 3, besides holding meeting of the contesting candidates on January 10 and 11 to work out the final line of action to fight against hostile administration.
