Stop harassing poor people on name of eviction drive: Namrta
1/30/2023 10:54:23 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 30: Namrta Sharma, President Women Wing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today castigated the government for harassing the general public on the name of eviction drive.
In a statement issued here today, the senior AAP leader condemned the Government for attempting to forcibly dislocate a large section of people settled in Jammu and Kashmir by issuing a gagging order in the name of encroachments. He said that the government issuing arbitrarily orders one after the other to further its anti people agenda especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinent to mention here that a massive protest was witnessed today at Chowadi and Sunjwan here today against the eviction drive initiated by the government.
The senior APP leader said that the eviction order issued by the proxy government of Modi led dispensation in centre has unraveled the real and ugly face of BJP as it has decided to make hundreds of poor souls homeless and jobless through this merciless order by which people have been asked to dismantle their homes, shops and other establishments raised on Kah Charai, Roshni or State land before January 31, 2023.
Namrta said there is no need to harass such people who have made their house on small chunks of land comprising of 5 to 7 Marlas. Government should stop harassing these people and must take against the big sharks who have actually misuse the Roshni Act and grabbed kanals of state land, she added.
“The implementation of this order will only lead to creating an atmosphere of chaos and confusion across Jammu and Kashmir.
The people in possession of the said land did not occupy it forcibly but the same stands duly allotted to them under the law namely Roshni Act duly passed by the legislature of Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, these people got the rights of land under the Roshni Act by paying their lifelong earning for getting the land registered in their name followed by further spending on construction of dwellings to live in,” she added.
Namrta Sharma warned the administration to withdraw the aforesaid controversial order failing which the Aam Aadmi Party along with general public will come on roads and launch massive agitation against the wrong policies of the government.
