JAMMU, Feb 1: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vikram Randhawa termed the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as a people centric budget showing the commitment of the state government for balanced, inclusive and development of all sections of society. Former Legislator also congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting an excellent Union Budget.
"It is a Budget which would give fillip to 'Make in India', boost demand and build capacities for a stronger, prosperous and confident India," Randhawa said.
He has expressed confidence that this budget covers all sections of the society with the central idea of "Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas" will prove to be a historic achievement. As per Finance Minister, 38,800 teachers will be hired for Ekalavya Model Residential Schools, which will be very helpful for the students.
Randhawa while discussing the budget said that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated Rs 35581 crore in the Union budget for the Jammu and Kashmir, which will pave way for the development of the Union Territory.
While elaborating about Income Tax, Randhawa said "The new tax rates are 0 to Rs 3 lakhs is nil, Rs 3 to 6 lakhs is 5%, Rs 6 to 9 Lakhs is 10%, Rs 9 to 12 Lakh is 15%, Rs 12 to 15 Lakhs is 20% and above 15 Lakhs is 30%". He said the reduction in the Income Tax slab will benefit the masses. He expressed confidence that this budget will realize the vision of 'Atmnanirbhar Bharat' as the country is celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi.
He said that this budget of Gujarat, the growth engine of the country, is a budget with many schemes for the holistic upliftment of all sections of society including farmers, youth employment, seafarers, forest brothers, poor and deprived.
He said that the budget is in line with the Prime Minister's commitment to a self-reliant India.
Former Legislator said that care has been taken in this budget to ensure that even the last man of the society get the fruits of development.
"Government is committed to carry forward the developmental works initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi", senior BJP leader added.
