| Poll duty forces start moving out | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 01- Withdrawal of additional companies of paramilitary forces has begun in Jammu and Kashmir. These forces had been sent by the Union Home Ministry for poll duty in the state. Police sources today said that about 475 additional companies had been sent from outside the state for election duty. The sources said that de-induction of these forces has started two days after the election results were announced on Sunday. They said the process of withdrawing these forces will be completed within next one week. In reply to a question, a senior police officer said that since the situation in the state was, at present, peaceful "we do not require additional forces.” He said "we have sufficient forces for tackling any law and order problem.” He said additional companies of paramilitary were required for ensuring incident free poll process adding that it due to the strengthening of the security grid that during electioneering and polling in seven phases no untoward incident took place. He said that since all the polling booths and sensitive areas had been placed under heavy security cover militants were not in a position to disrupt the poll process.
