GS Sports Club organised a seminar on "Cyber Crime"

JAMMU, Feb 2: G.S Sports Club in Collaboration with Jammu Sanskriti School organised an awareness program seminar on cybercrime. The program started with the lighting of lamps. The Chief Guest Yasin Kichloo, SSP Security Jammu Kashmir Civil Secretariat was welcomed by Chairman Harpreet Anand and Principal Rohini Aima by presenting them bouquets and mementos. President G.S sports Club Atul Sudan, Bunny Sadotra, Mohit Mehra were others present during the seminar.
The main aim of the seminar was to create awareness among the teachers and students of the crimes of the digital era and ethics to be followed while being part of the virtual platform and role of digital footprints being digital citizens of the country. The programme was organised under the able guidance of Principal cum Vice Chairman Rohini Aima.
Expert speaker and chief guest of the seminar SSP Yaseen Kichloo presented the presentation on ethics to be maintained by the netizens. A wide range of topics like Identity theft, cyber grooming, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, sextortion, love scams, phishing, one ring scams, safeguarding social media accounts, online banking frauds, lottery frauds ,remote access scams , social media privacy policy etc. The students were made aware to restrain from disclosing their identities online and not to fall prey to the cyber criminals. It was emphasized that cyber criminals are day by day changing their modus operandi to cheat the online users. He said that as responsible netizens we should come forward and make a cyber space a safer place for all. The whole session remained interactive in which students raised various queries which were efficiently answered by the expert.
Atul Sudan President G.S Sports club while speaking on the occasion expressed his gratitude to the expert speaker for his valuable and informative session. He also appreciated the students who expressed their views on the topic. He further said that the students play an important role in nation building hence it is very crucial to educate them first regarding the various crimes. He said students should today take a lesson from here and should pass the gathered knowledge to their parents and guardians at home regarding crimes. He emphasized that parents should take care of kids on their activities on the virtual platform as they are concerned about their welfare and wellbeing in the real world.
Concluding the function, Chairman Harpreet Anand emphasized on all the netizens to be aware of the cybercrimes and as a responsible citizen of the country we should all come forward in making people especially youngsters aware of the crimes of virtual platform & thanked all the Guests for their commitment to serve in society. At last appreciation certificates were distributed among the participants.
