| Peoples asked to take horti benefits | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, JAN 1: Director Horticulture, Kashmir flagged off a bus carrying 40 progressive orchardists/fruit growers of almost all the districts of Kashmir division on study tour outside the state to the neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh under Horticulture Technology Mission Programme from Horticulture complex Gole Pulli, Talab Tillo here today. Director Horticulture Jammu, Chief Horticulture Officer, Srinagar and Chief Horticulture Officer, Kupwara were also present on the occasion. The farmers will visit Choudhary Sarwan Kumar Agriculture University Palampur, Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan and other places of Horticulture/Agriculture importance in Himachal Pradesh. While addressing the orchardists, Director Horticulture Kashmir emphasized the importance of such study tour and impressed upon the farmers to take maximum benefit from this study tour. He also advised them to have interaction with scientists and the progressive fruit growers of Himachal Pradesh for adoption of the latest technology. The study tour will help them to adopt the latest scientific methods in their orchards on their return and to boost the fruit cultivation in the region. Director Horticulture Jammu also addressed the farmers and asked them to take maximum benefit from the study tour and on return to implement the same in their own fields and orchard.
