| DDC convenes traffic management meet in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, JANUARY 01 (INFO)- To discuss preventive measures for minimizing the frequent road accidents in hilly district of Kishtwar, the District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Mr. Sudershan Sharma convened a meeting of concerned officers here yesterday. This meeting was a part of the follow-up action on the directions passed by the Governor, to ensure safety of the passengers on all routes and also formulate joint mechanism to rationalize the traffic managements. In addition to this various other issues related to the traffic system were discussed which included timing of passenger buses, overcoming the menace of overloading, activation of traffic police, arrangements of buses on needy roads, joint inspection of Batote-Kishtwar roads for removal of land slides, knocking of blind curves for enhancing the visibility of road, displaying of cautious signs for indicating sunken roads/road under repair. Erection of dileaners/reflectors for demarcation of road at vulnerable points and carrying out the work of strong road edges with treatment of pt-holes wherever existing on the roads of the district. Addressing the meeting the DDC stressed the need for strict enforcement of traffic rules and regulations besides regularizing the passenger traffic on all routes of the district. He also asked for conducting join inspection of the roads by the teams of Traffic, Police and BEACON authorities for identifying the place of repairs at the earliest possible time by the district administration. Among others, the meeting was also attended by the SP, SDPO, GREF/BEACON officers and traffic functionaries of the district.
