IIMC Director General interact with Journalism students of Jammu Campus

Jammu, Feb 5: Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi, Director General (DG), Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) interacted with the students of Northern Regional Centre, Jammu Campus on Saturday. On this occasion, Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi said that the time is moving at its own pace and everything is getting upgraded with it. The level of media education is becoming tough and the media companies will choose the candidates in a new way in future. By incorporating certain skills, you will be able to face whatever challenges come in your journalistic career. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Goswami, Regional Director of IIMC, Jammu Campus, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Saumitra, Dr. Dilip Kumar, Dr. Vinit Utpal and Mr. Vishwa were present along with the students of all the three courses English Journalism, Hindi Journalism and Digital Media.
During the interaction, Prof. Dwivedi said that the art of social living can be learned from the regional and linguistic diversity among students of IIMC Jammu campus. He encouraged media students and said, “You have chosen this media field due to your interest. If you develop your journalistic skills during the short duration of these courses, you can achieve your goal soon and you will rely that you have taken the right decision after eight-nine years.
Director General (DG) of IIMC said that the first batch of Digital Media and Hindi Journalism in the Jammu campus has already started in the new campus and the role of students is important in the development of the campus. He wished the students to keep the campus clean, preserve nature, spend time in the library and create a good educational environment.
Prof. Dwivedi said, ‘You are belonging to the new generation and have lots of new ideas. Therefore, it is the duty of the students to make IIMC Jammu campus that way that the students of forthcoming batch will prefer IIMC Jammu campus to learn journalistic skills to become a world leader in the field of journalism. It doesn’t matter where you come from. Make yourself worthy and make your family, society and nation worthy.”
Interacting with journalism students, Prof. Dwivedi said that as a communicator it is our responsibility to empower an ordinary citizen in the development of the society, country and world. In the present time, even by being in an ordinary position, one can reach an extra ordinary position. He said that this is the era of creativity and ideas. The name of Indians is among the best people in technology, software, medical etc. in all over the world. This is a matter of inspiration and pride for us.
Earlier, Prof. Dwivedi, DG, IIMC inspected the new campus of the Northern Regional Centre, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) and inaugurated the photo exhibition, organized by the students of Digital Media Course. Prof. Dwivedi also launched the practical newspapers, magazines, calendar and web portals prepared by the students of English Journalism, Hindi Journalism and Digital Media courses.
