NEP endeavour of Modi Govt to educate, encourage, enlighten generation next: Sham Sharma
2/5/2023 10:30:48 PM
Early Times Report

AKHNOOR, Feb 5: Former Minister and State Vice President BJP Sham Sharma today said that the New Education Policy (NEP) is a unique endeavour of Government led by PM Narendra Modi to educate, encourage and enlighten the next generation in a systematic way.
The BJP leader was speaking during the annual prize distribution programme at Bishno High School Jad, Akhnoor. He also honoured the students who have excelled in different activities in the school. On the occasion, District Development Council member Bhalwal Brahmin Mr. Bhushan Baral, SSP Mohan Lal, Retired Engineer Ashok Singh Chaudhary, Principal Bishno High School, Madan Singh Chaudhary and other dignitaries were present.
The former minister said that the launch of NEP in 2023 was aimed at developing 21st-century skills in the students of the country and for sure the change in the policy will lead to drastic changes in the mindset of the society because earlier the education set up in India was colonial and inclined more towards western world rather than instilling ethos of Indian culture and taught the pupils about majestic history of this land of brave people.
“The amendments in NEP from the previous education policy strive for Research, Innovation, and Quality”, Sham Lal said, adding that the main objective of NEP is to achieve 100 percent youth and adult literacy and all the reforms made in the previous policy for education tend to achieve the aforesaid target.
He said that the Modi Government has envisaged the NEP to bring the people closer to the culture and vividness of the country, which was missing in the earlier educational policies which were imposed on India under mounting pressure of the people living in foreign lands especially the British.
“Modi Government has ensured the end of hegemony of those who blindly follow the western world’s dogma whether it is religion, education or any other entity”, the BJP leader said, adding that people will themselves find the difference in the coming years and will remember PM Modi for his contribution in evoking nationalism and self-respect through the amendments made in the outdated and biased education policy that ruled the roost for over three decades in the country.
Sham Sharma emphasised the significance of instilling values in youngsters in order to help them develop into decent citizens.
“I say everywhere that value education should be added in our curriculum, our system, our syllabus,” he said.
He claimed that if value education is given from the start, it would aid in the emergence of a good society.
The goal of Value-based education is to produce well-rounded individuals who are able to contribute positively to society.
Earlier, the students have also presented colorful cultural program.
