CBC organizes ICOP on Swachhta Abhiyan

UDHAMPUR, Feb 7: Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office, Udhampur today organized one day Integrated Outreach and Communication Programme on Swachhta Abhiyan at Government Higher Secondary School, Barolla Udhampur.
Lal Chand, Chairman District Development Council, Udhampur was the chief guest during the programme. While appreciating the role of CBC Udhampur, he said, for awareness of Welfare Schemes of Government of India, CBC is playing it's role in an effective way. Lal said, it is the prime duty of all to protect our environment and work towards achieving the dream of Green and Clean India.
The aim of the programme is to intensify the awareness campaign on the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission, which aims to make India open defecation free and make India Green and Clean, he added.
During the day long programme, various activities were organized by CBC Udhampur including Open Quiz Competition on Swachh Bharat Mission and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Shramdaan Activity.
A Rally of students displaying play cards on Swachhta was also organized by CBC Udhampur that passed through the village spreading awareness among the masses.
Joint Director, CBC, Jammu, Ghulam Abass while welcoming the guests gave detailed overview of the functioning, structure and working of CBC, in the twin UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Abass said, these programmes are being organized so that people get benefits of various public welfare schemes of the government.
Pratiba Gupta, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School, Barolla presented Vote of Thanks in the programme. Others Present during the event were Balwan Singh, BDC Chairman, Khursheed Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Udhampur, Irshad Ahmad, Sarpanch Panchayat Barolla, Lecturers, Teachers and locals.
Dustbins were also distributed to the school by CBC Udhampur and IEC material on Welfare Schemes was also distributed among the teachers and students.
