JAMMU, Feb 8: Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billwarira visited Ward No. 55 Shanti Nagar, Kunjwani, Ward No. 51 Channi Himmat and Ward No. 47 Bahu Fort and inspected the houses coming under the Housing for All scheme. During his visit, the Deputy Mayor of Jammu handed over the keys of houses to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (URBAN) mission scheme. The Deputy Mayor Jammu was accompanied by Corporator Ward No. 51 Raj Kumar Tarkhan, Corporator Ward No. 55 Shardha Devi, Corporator Ward No. 55 Pritam Singh and officers of 'Housing for All' Department.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the Housing for All scheme is a revolutionary initiative of the central government that aims to provide housing to all the citizens of the country. He further said that the aim of the scheme is to provide housing to all by 2023 and the government is committed to make this mission a success. He also highlighted the various initiatives taken by the government to provide housing to the weaker sections of the society.
Deputy Mayor Jammu expressed the Prime Minister's Narendra Modi commitment to providing housing for all and said that this scheme will help to bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots. He said that according to the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every poor person should have his own house, houses being given to the needy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that people have taken full advantage of this scheme and whoever has been deprived of this scheme should liaison with corporators so that they too can get the benefit. He said that the mission is a great step towards the realization of the Prime Minister's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'.
Deputy Mayor Billawaria said that we are creating awareness about the schemes and its benefits among citizens. We will also be involved in organizing workshops and seminars to educate citizens about the schemes and how they can avail its benefits. He added that this scheme also aims to improve the quality of life in urban areas and create better opportunities for all. He also encouraged the people to continue their efforts for the betterment of the society.
Former Chairman Raj Kumar Tarkhan said that the Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria is an experienced leader in the city and has a track record of delivering projects and initiatives successfully. He is a true leader who is ready to take up any challenge and find solutions to the problems faced by the people of Jammu and he also serves the general public to alleviate poverty and provide access to basic amenities like water, electricity, toilets and roads etc.
The Deputy Mayor also held a meeting with the local residents and discussed the various development issues and other problems faced by them. He assured the people that the government is committed to provide all possible assistance to the people and that all their problems will be addressed on priority. He also said that the government is constantly working to ensure the betterment of the people and to improve their living conditions.
