POWERGRID provides AC Critical Care Ambulance, other medical equipment to DHS

JAMMU, Feb 9: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided one AC Critical Care Ambulance alongwith one portable ECG 12 Channel Machine, Biochemistry Semi Auto Analyser and one Automatic Biochemistry Analyser to Directorate of health services, Jammu for strengthening the medical infrastructure of Jammu District.
Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II handed over the ambulance alongwith these hi-end latest technology machines to Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization J&K & Director Health Services Jammu in the presence of Abhay Kumar, Chief General Manager(AM), Arshad Iqbal Shah, Sr.GM (C&M), KV Sampath Kumar, Sr. GM(F&A), Vinod P. Baxala, General Manager (HR), POWERGRID, Dr. Harbaksh Singh , CMO, Jammu and other senior officials of POWERGRID, Health Department of Jammu on 08th February,2023. The cost of these equipment is around 30 lakhs. While the AC Critical Care Ambulance alongwith one portable ECG 12 Channel Machine, Biochemistry Semi Auto Analyser are for Government Hospital Sarwal, the Automatic Biochemistry Analyser has been installed at SDH, Akhnoor.
This CSR effort of POWERGRID will augment the existing health infrastructure in Jammu division will support the hospitals located in Sarwal and Akhnoor in District Jammu (J&K) to provide medical services to nearby towns and villages. Since these hospitals are the only main medical support infrastructure in these areas, these latest technology machines will provide great comfort to the populace of these areas which otherwise have to visit other hospitals in Jammu city. Further by providing AC critical ambulance to Sarwal hospital, people in this area can avail the ambulance facility with much ease now.
The authorities of the health department, Jammu thanked POWERGRID for providing the ambulance alongwith hi-end equipment and requested POWERGRID to continue contributing to the health infrastructure development in Jammu.
Under CSR activities, health sector is one of the thrust area of POWERGRID especially in the government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for well being of the general masses. During last three years, POWERGRID has taken up many CSR initiatives in Jammu province amounting to Rs 4 crore.

POWERGRID is engaged in inter-state bulk power transmission. POWERGRID has 173,815 ckm of transmission lines, 271 Sub-stations and more than 493,862 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability >99%. POWERGRID performance has been consistently Excellent by achieving very difficult measurable parameters which are set in MoU signed with Ministry of Power, Government of India.
POWERGRID, Northern Region -II with headquarter in Jammu, is having its Transmission System spread in the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UT of Chandigarh, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
