JKNGEEA holds regional conference

JAMMU, Feb 11: J&K Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Association held its regional conference today at Miran Sahib Jammu which was attended by more than 120 delegates and observers. The conference was presided over by Gurmeet Singh Sr. Trade Union leader and State Secretary JKNGEEA.
Md. Maqbool general secretary while inaugurating the conference explained in detail the present Privatization power policies of the Central Govt. and UT Administration which are very harmful for the poor masses especially the employees and engineers of this vital sector. He said that Electricity employees have a glorious past of struggle and have always stood united in facing the anti worker onslaught of the ruling classes and the best example is the 72 hours united historical strike of power workers and engineers in 2021. He while demanding to halt the further unbundling process of power sector stressed for a unified approach in power sector under Govt. Control.
Gurmeet Singh while addressing the conference highlighted the immediate and burning issues of employees and said that the Electricity authorities are unnecessary harassing the employees to complete the revenue target when the employees are putting all efforts to ensure the Electricity dues. He also said that transmission losses are mainly the result of poor and substandard transmission system and employees are responsible for that and any undue harassment can't be tolerated. He urged the employees to unitedly fight the wrong policies of PDD authorities. A resolution on demands especially Regularization of all daily wagers, holding of DPCs of all cadres, Revival of old pension scheme, implementing the SRO 59 and 149 fully and for developing the United struggle was adopted.
The others speakers who spoke during the conference on resolution and other issues were Surinder Kumar, Rajesh Jamwal Satpal Singh, Subash Chander, bhupinder Singh, Ashok Kumar Ravinder Singh Raina, Ajay Sharma and other Hura Bano Vise President (JKCCTU) Also address the gathering.
The conference ejected a 15 member Regional working committee with Rajesh Jamwal as president Sat pal singh working President, Arvinder Pal Singh Sr. Vise President Surinder kumar and Ramneek singh as Secretary Gaurav Kumar Publicity Sectary and Ravinder Singh Ratti as cashier.
