SCERT conducts “Kathashilp” under Nipun Bharat

Jammu, Feb 12: Weekly Online Series of Story Telling sessions for young children “KATHASHILP” which is an initiative of SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu and organised by Population Education, Girls Education ECCE and Education for All Wing of SCERT-J&K in collaboration with EDUWEAVE Foundation, to promote Foundational literacy under NIPUN Bharat once again enthralled and enchanted it’s young audience and participants on Saturday.This online initiative KATHASHILP has been running successfully under the able guidance of Joint Director SCERT Jammu Sh H.R.PAKHROO and supervision of Sh.N.P Singh, Head, Population Education, Girls Education, ECCE & Education for All Wing since 2021, with an objective to develop their foundational literacy skills and develop their interest in reading and writing.
N.P Singh, Head ECCE WING, wished all the best to the students for their exams on last Kathashilp session of the Academic year 2022-23.
Deepak Sharma Senior Academic Officer and Coordinater Kathashilp- NIPUN BHARAT, J&K informed that Team Kathashilp and children will meet in new academic session after examination break with a new energy and motivation under Joint Director Sh. H.R.Pakhroo who always emphasises upon the significance of StoryTelling - a useful teaching strategy for developing students’ literacy and reading comprehension at the foundational level that leads to effective teaching strategies in classroom transactions which can optimise the language proficiency of the learners.
Highlight of this weekly session among others was reciting of Story-telling in a chorus by children of Government Middle school Yug, udhampur studying in early grades, under the mentorship of their teacher Sh Suresh Kumar.
The session was co-ordinated by Mr Deepak Sharma, Sr.Academic Officer (Co-ordinator Kathashilp/NIPUN Bharat JK)and moderated by Ms Pallavi Joshi, SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu alongwith Ms Anandi Tokas from Eduweave foundation. Technical Co-ordination was provided by Akash Khajuria
These story telling sessions are being organised on every Saturday by SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu to continue with its journey to strive hard in its endeavour to achieve the goals of NIPUN Bharat.
