Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 12: An urgent meeting meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters Association (JKTMA) was held under the chairmanship of UT President Rakesh Singh and UT General Secretary Vivek Gupta to discuss the burning issues of Teacher and Masters. While speaking on the occasion Singh strongly demanded to transfer the authority of transfer of Teachers and Masters to Joint Director School Education and Director School Education respectively strictly as per guidelines envisaged by school Education Department, keeping in view that online transfer of teachers proved utter failure due to many factors as seen in previous lists, in which large number of discrepancies was found like mass zero KM transfers, transfer of RBA selected teachers and Masters to Non-RBA areas, Zero KM transfers, transfer of teachers having less stay ignoring teachers of more stay, mutual transfers and chain transfer of some influential soft area teachers ,displacement of Teachers of hard areas again to hard areas and soft areas again to soft areas, non-displacement of many municipal area/Urban teachers despite their mature stay deliberately in order to provide them undue benefit, considering petty claims of medical grounds and security grounds without verifying their authenticity and entertaining the medical board of District medical board which is in contravention of rules as only Medical board of Jammu Medical Board is valid and authentic.
Singh said that besides these, online transfer does not take into consideration the pupil - Teacher ratio into consideration and urban areas having less enrollment got more teachers and rural & inaccessible areas having large number of enrollment got less teachers and in order to overcome this problem SED should implement the policy in which Teachers selected on basis of category certificate in which they got relaxation in selection merit particularly RBA selected Teachers must be transferred to rural backward areas preferably to their residence mentioned in RBA category certificate this is necessary to overcome the deficiency of staff in rural areas in the interest of students.
