JAMMU, JAN 3: The financial commissioner, planning and development S L Bhat while reviewing the activities carried out by the J&K economic and statistics impressed upon the officers to work with dedication and attain the objectives of achieving higher levels of growth, and equitable development of all regions of the state, beside welfare of the common masses.
Director General, Economics and Statistics G A Qureshi in his introductory remarks explained the various activities being carried out by the directorate of economic and statistics in the field of statistics, economic analysis and development evaluation. He said that during the last couple of years new initiatives have been taken up by the directorate of economic and statistics including preparation of pre-budget economic survey, village amenity directory and publication or quarterly development journal which has been widely appreciated by both govt and non-govt circles in the state and also that the national level. Socio-economic profile of J&K state has been attempted for the Ist time and it is a beautiful blend of date information and analysis will serve as a useful and informative document of the state profile.
On the occasion two publications of the department were released.
