DDC reviews construction of segregation sheds, CSCs, soakage pits

RAJOURI, Feb 16: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today took a comprehensive review of the progress of construction of Segregation sheds, community sanitary complexes, and soakage pits in the district. The meeting was attended by officials from various departments and stakeholders involved in the project.
During the meeting, the progress of the construction of segregation sheds was discussed. It was informed that out of the total 178 segregation sheds to be completed, 65 have been completed, and 95 are in progress. The DDC directed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction work and complete the pending sheds at the earliest.
The progress of the construction of community sanitary complexes (CSCs) was also reviewed during the meeting. It was informed that out of 168 CSCs approved, 71 have been completed, and 85 are in progress. The DDC set a deadline of March 10 for the completion of the pending CSCs.
In addition, the meeting discussed the progress of the construction of soakage pits. It was informed that against a target of 42,597 soakage pits, 36,000 have been completed. The DDC directed the concerned authorities to complete the pending soakage pits within one week.
The DDC emphasised the need for timely completion of these projects to achieve the goal of making the district clean . He urged the officials to work in close coordination with the stakeholders and ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated time frame.
The construction of segregation sheds, community sanitary complexes, and soakage pits is a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a national cleanliness campaign aimed at achieving the vision of a clean India. The progress made in these projects will go a long way in improving the overall cleanliness and sanitation in the district.
The DDC appreciated the efforts of the officials and stakeholders involved in the project and encouraged them to continue working towards the goal of a cleaner and healthier district.
