Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 20: General Category People's Front (GCPF-JK) held its meeting today under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, the Chairman of the Front in which members of the front deliberated upon the socio-economic and political problems being faced by the majority. Addressing the meeting Prof. Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front strongly condemned continuation of reservation without any review. It is the biggest deception, political fraud as it provides benefit to the rich and exploits the poor and divide the society, creates hatred among caste and caste. He demanded that Government should make the caste irrelevant as it is anti national. Some professions are given names as castes. No political party has protected the rights of general category because of negative biased and prejudiced perception about swarn castes. After Supreme Court' verdict on E.W.S Reservation, the concept is altogether changed. Som Nath Sharma Gen. Secretary said that General Category people would no longer accept the continuation of reservation. They were angry, upset and emotionally shattered. They felt humiliated. He appealed to the Govt. Of India to move in direction of legal action and enact 'Equality Act' to ensure equality, justice, dignity and liberty to All. He demanded restoration of restricted fundamental basic rights of majority and make fundamental rights full and complete rights and shun the suppression and marginalization of incarcerated non-reserved people. There is crippling lacuna in law when it comes to people's right of equality and justice.
V.K. Sharma and Deepak Khajuria both Vice Presidents asked the political parties to make reason promises of reducing Taxes, toll, fines, service charges, GST, Price rise and ensure discrimination free India in their manifesto for elections and refrain from making false promises of jobs, free electricity, water, LPG and other freebies besides equality and justice to all, removal of contradictions exiting in the constitution by having a fair review of it by the committee of renowned justices and social thinkers. Raj Kumar Banathia in his presidential address said that like SC's/STs/OBCs reservation, ENS reservation is also a political fraud and exploitation and dangerous game plan to hoodwink majority community, Enough is enough. All right thinking people should politically oppose the continuation of reservation as it had inflicted huge loss to the progress and development of the country and kept the nation away from what it should be. Reservation had given birth to Administrative incompetency and jeopardize the career of talented youth. Country is needed a new concept of reservation today and demanded that government socio economic and political policies and welfare schemes be guided by the very essence of Human equality, justice, liberty and dignity. Bushan Pargal, Deepak Khajurtia, Gopal Dass Verma, Swarn Singh, Ravi Sawhney; Jagdish Dogra, Dr. Bansi Lal also expressed their views against discrimination and appeasement policies and programmes of the government.
