POWERGRID provides AC critical care ambulance and other health equipment

MALERKOTLA, Feb 20: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided one AC Critical Care Ambulance along with four Fowler Patient beds and one Blood donor chair as part of its CSR initiative for strengthening the medical infrastructure in the Malerkotla district of Punjab.
Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II in the presence of Karandeep Singh, ADC, Malerkotla handed over the ambulance along with these health equipment to Dr. Harinder Sharma, Civil Surgeon Malerkotla and Dr. Jagjeet Singh, SMO, Malerkotla. Sathish Kumar J, Chief General Manager (Moga), POWERGRID, Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager(HR), POWERGRID and other senior officers from District administration, Health department, Malerkotla and POWERGRID were present on this occasion.
The cost of the equipment handed over under this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is around 25 lacs. This initiative of POWERGRID will help in providing good health facilities to the needy population of more than four lacs in the district of Malerkotla.
Prior to this, POWERGRID had handed over two PHC buildings at Mallanwala and Kassoana in the district of Ferozepur under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at a cost of Rs.3.19 crore in November, 2022.
Further, 03 nos. ambulances were handed over to Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur in January 2021, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), at a total cost of Rs.44 lakhs. With this initiative of POWERGRID, the Patients are being benefitted by providing faster transportation to hospitals
In addition to above, 282 Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines and 282 Incinerators have been installed by POWERGRID in 217 Middle, High and Senior Secondary Schools of District Ferozepur, Punjab under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This work was completed at a cost of Rs. 1.83 Crore benefitting more than 22,000 girl students.
As a responsible Corporate Citizen, POWERGRID has been extending support for development of various infrastructure activities in the state of Punjab through its CSR initiatives amounting to approximately Rs. 10 crores during last three years.
Under CSR activities, health sector is one of the thrust area of POWERGRID especially in the government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for well being of the general masses.
POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED is a Maharatna Enterprise under Ministry of Power having its regional headquarters of Northern Region-II at Jammu. POWERGRID is engaged in inter-state bulk power transmission. POWERGRID has 173,815 ckm of transmission lines, 271 Sub-stations and more than 493,862 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability >99%. POWERGRID performance has been consistently Excellent by achieving very difficult measurable parameters which are set in MoU signed with Ministry of Power, Government of India.
