Jammu, Feb 20: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology [YCET] conducted a session on “Challenges and Research Perspective in Digitization in India.”
The session was initiated by Er. Anupreet, Hod, CSE Department. She welcomed the Chief- Guest Dr. L. Kavi Sankar, Asstt Prof. in Computing Department at SRM Institute of science and Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She further extended her warm regards to all the dignitaries, faculty members and the students present there.
Further the podium was handled by Er. Rajnish Magotra, Hod, Civil Department. Er. Rajnish Magotra gave the formal welcome to the resource person, Dr.L. Kavi Sankar, along with Mr. Leela Shankar a renowned Agriculture Entrepreneur with 20 years of rich experience in industrial sector.
Er. Rajnish Magotra, Hod, Civil Department, further gave the brief introduction about the achievements of the chief-guest.
Dr. L. Kavi Sankar is at present working as an Asstt. Prof. in Department of Computing at SRM IST, Tamil Nadu, Chennai.
His area of research is IOT, Block chain, Cyber- Security and Computer Forensics. He had been working on a SSC project worth Rs. 9 Cr. This project was fully funded by Govt. of India, New Delhi. The project was conducted with the involvement of the researchers from IIT Madras, Pondicherry University, Kamraj University, Allagappa University and Anna University.
Er. Rajnish Magotra, Hod, Civil Department then welcomed the Chief- Guest Dr. L. Kavi Shankar on stage for his knowledgeable disquisition.
Dr. L. Kavi Shankar, firstly appreciatively acknowledged the warm welcome received by YCET and further begin with his presentation on internet security and viruses. He made the students aware of some concepts related to internet security like Patch, Key logger, spam and many new technologies. He also parted the knowledge of viruses to the students in a very fun way with the help of various pictorial representations.
Additionally, he also motivated the students towards the research with the help of a presentation on his SSC project and elaborated it in detail.
Over and above all with a very innovative way of disquisition, he indulged the students into a quiz game. Students were highly engaged in the game and took equal participation with great enthusiasm. This part of the session appropriately gave the knowledge to the students in a very fruitful way.
After the quiz game Er.Rajnish Magotra Hod, Civil Department, thanked Dr. L.kavi sankar for giving his valuable time and sharing his knowledge with the students of YCET. He also congratulated the Chief-Guest for conducting the innovative quiz game and parting knowledge to the students in such an interesting way
The event was further preceded with the memento presentation; Director YCET Dr. (Prof.) Mukesh Kumar Rana presented the memento to the worthy Chief-Guest as a token of appreciation.
The session was summed up by Er.Anupreet, Hod, CSE Department, with the vote of thanks. She summed up by thanking the Chief Guest for giving such a valuable session and imparting the bunch of knowledge on the technological trends.
