Dy mayor kick starts construction work of nallah

JAMMU, Feb 21: Deputy Mayor of Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria started the construction of the left out portion of the nallah at Ward 56 Gangyal in RS Pura-Jammu South constituency, which will prevent flood water from entering the houses in the area. The estimated cost of the project is about Rs. 76.00 Lakhs and will be undertaken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
He further said that this nallah will help in diverting the flood water away from the houses in the area thereby protecting the properties and livelihood of the people living in the area. The completion of this nallah will also help in preventing the water logging in the area.
He further added that the Municipal Corporation of Jammu has been working tirelessly to improve the infrastructure of Jammu and this project is a testament to the same.
The Deputy Mayor has assured that the project will be completed in the stipulated time period and will ensure the safety of the citizens living in the area. He has requested the citizens to cooperate in the construction work and support the Jammu Municipal Corporation in ensuring a safe and secure future for the area.
The Deputy Mayor has also assured that the Jammu Municipal Corporation will take all measures to ensure that the construction of the nallah is completed with minimal inconvenience to the citizens and the environment. He has also asked the citizens to report any issues related to the project to the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria has helped spread the message of Swachh Bharat by urging people through his words & action. He has appealed to the people of Jammu to come forward and support the Jammu Municipal Corporation in its endeavor to make the city safe and secure.
Later, Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria visited Ekta Vihar and started the construction work of the lane and drain. These works are being done under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD).
Deputy Mayor Jammu said that the completion of development works will provide better sanitation and hygiene to the people of Ekta Vihar. The project is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas', and it will provide a much-needed drainage system in the area.
He said that the initiative will go a long way in addressing the long-standing problem of waterlogging and flooding in the area. The construction of this drain will not only provide relief to them but also improve the overall health and hygiene conditions in the area."
The Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria said that JMC is committed to the development of Jammu city and we are working on various projects. We are keen to ensure that the Jammuites have access to basic amenities and infrastructure such as roads, water supply, sanitation, electricity, etc.
